un poquito about us
Juantons began as a craving—not just for dumplings or empanadas, but for something deeper: a sense of belonging, roots, and flavor with soul.
I’m Juan, and I grew up in a Colombian household—cooking alongside my mom, surrounded by cousins, laughter, and loud kitchens. I spent weekdays in school on the Long Island border in Valley Stream, but most nights and weekends were in Jackson Heights and Corona with my family. That’s where I soaked up the flavor of Queens—from street carts and late-night diners to a little Cuban-Chinese restaurant called Jardín de China.
Sizzling woks, rice and beans, egg rolls, and mojo all under one roof. A Chinese waiter speaking perfect Spanish? That was more than dinner—it was a revelation.

After 25 years of opening restaurants, leading teams, and building brands across NYC and the Hudson Valley, I saw something missing. Chino Latino cuisine wasn’t getting the respect it deserved. That’s why I started Juantons.
We’re bringing back the nearly forgotten legacy of Chino Latino kitchens—using Hudson Valley ingredients, a zero-waste promise, and dishes that are bold, clean, and packed with purpose. Juicy dumplings and golden empanadas filled with Latin and Asian soul.
This isn’t nostalgia. It’s a revival.
Crafted with care and made for the modern table—whether you're looking for a quick, nourishing meal or hosting a celebration with flavor at the center.
It’s Chino Latino, reimagined.
